On
Friday, September 16th we celebrated National
Constitution day by playing a game that would enable the students to
describe how the members of the Constitutional Convention might have
felt as they gathered and began the task of writing the United
States Constitution.
The students were divided into
groups and using only
1 die,
12 paper clips and
The following rhymed
instructions:
It's time to play a little game.
No two groups will play the same.
What and how is up to you.
The group must choose what it will do.
Use the things that you find here.
It won't take long; you need not fear.
In six short minutes you'll share your fame
By telling how you played your game.
The students had to develop a
game. Each group created a unique game with the materials. TA
summed it up by sharing that in his group, each member shared an
idea and then they took a part of each person’s idea to create their
game…..just like the original writers of the Constitution!
